But don't worry, it's a super simple process that shouldn't not take you more than 2 minutes! Here's a step-by-step guide:

X create app Screen for those who never created an app before
  1. Visit the X Developer Portal and sign in with your X account
  2. If you already have created apps in the past, click "Create New App" and fill in:
    • App name: Choose any name (e.g. "Statuz Client")
    • Description: Brief description (e.g. "Statuz client for publishing posts")
  3. If you never created an app before, click the "Sign up for Free Account" at the bottom of the page and fill in:
    • App use case: Statuz helps post to social media right from the Mac's menu bar. No more jumping between tabs or apps - just click, write, and share to X in seconds. You can write single posts or create threads, add photos and videos by dropping them in. Learn more at https://statuz.gg

    • Copy the "API Key" and "API Key Secret". You can "Regenerate" new keys at any time.
    • Open Statuz and paste these values in Settings > X (Twitter)
  6. Back in the X Developer Portal, go to the "Settings" tab located next to "Keys and tokens" and then click to "Set up" User Authentication:
    • App Permissions: Set to Read and write
    • Type of App: Select Native App
    • Callback URL: Enter statuz://oauth

Return to Statuz and click "Connect". After authorizing, you'll see a green checkmark indicating your X account is successfully connected. Don't forget to mark the option "Enable posting" in the app settings before you start publishing posts.

If needed, you can regenerate your Consumer Keys anytime in the X Developer Portal. After updating the keys in Statuz, you'll need to go through the authorization process again.
